Volunteers

We give our valued volunteers the opportunity to work alongside and learn from our instructors.

  • Volunteers should be at least 18 years old.

When you volunteer, you should expect to:

    • Learn or develop skills
    • Be part of your community
    • Gain a sense of achievement
    • Boost your career options
    • Have new experiences
    • Meet a diverse range of people

You should be willing to commit one-half day each week for six months.

Step 1
Complete a Criminal Background Check (also known as “CPIC”). It is required before participating at H’art Centre. You can find the online Kingston Police eBackground Check Service by clicking here.

Step 3
Contact our office, submit your application, and arrange your visit and interview.

Step 4
Complete your training! As a volunteer, you will be given access to the first four modules of our award-winning MixAbilities Inclusive Arts Training Program.

H’art Centre is located below Good Life Fitness. The building’s main entrance is off of Barrack Street. Wheelchair access and audience access to THE BOX inclusive performing arts space is available through the entrance on Wellington Street.
