Literary, Community Arts

In Literary Arts, you will explore aspects of the written word using a central theme as a starting point. The literary arts will balance content lessons with creative exploration of poetry, narrative, storytelling and creative expression. Past students have used these skills to collaboratively write and illustrate journals, art work and the popular children’s books, Newton Rides The Bus and Newton Finds a Home.

In Community-Engaged Arts, we aim to create opportunities for you to meet individuals and explore organizations creating art, or making opportunities to create art, in our local community. You will be able to participate in community-based projects and to develop your own projects within our H’art community. Community-Engaged Arts will explore a wide variety of media through visits to local organizations and galleries, visiting artist and creative exploration in the studio.
