Special Olympics Ontario invited Executive Director Katherine Porter and MixAbilities Facilitator Karen Dolan, along with 40+ art educators, instructors, and other education and learning admin staff, to be part of a three-hour panel designed to support the Art Gallery of Ontario staff on March 24. The goal was to help staff “developing and facilitating meaningful creative engagement for people who identify as having an intellectual disability or as neurodiverse”.

Katherine joined the experienced panel to share expertise and share information about our MixAbilities Inclusive Arts Training program, our Inclusivity Guide, virtual program, and more. Karen, our MixAbilities Facilitator for the past three years, joined the Q&A portion of an Accessibility Training online panel discussion.

“I am interested in hearing about how other arts organizations are handling inclusivity and accessibility,” said Karen. “As I listened to the discussion it became obvious that H’art is considered a leader in raising awareness around inclusive arts. H’art shared their successes and the different ways they meet the wide range of needs of their members establishing H’art as a valuable resource for those working in the arts.”

We were thrilled to join an experienced panel to share expertise and information about our MixAbilities Inclusive Arts Training program, our Inclusivity Guide, virtual program, and more.
