Lessons Learned and Loved

Sep 21, 2017 | Art, Exhibits, H'art Events - 2017, H'art Studio

An exhibit and fundraiser in support of major 20th anniversary performance

In 1998, artist Katherine Porter established a group that would grow into Kingston’s H’art Centre, an arts hub where people with disabilities create, study, and produce works in the arts.

On the cusp of its 20th anniversary, Porter and the H’art artists will reflect on what this place and journey has meant through this joyful, side-by-side exhibit featuring new acrylic works.

For both Porter and the H’art artists, it has been about the simple lessons, too easy to forget: Appreciate the little things…sit and watch…work hard…laugh a lot…mistakes are okay…keep on dancing…and all kinds of people make art.
