THE BOX at H’art Centre will be rocking starting on July 10, 2015 with the launch of a new, free eight-week summer music program for seniors called Rock the Chairs!
The program, open to adults 55 and older, will introduce participants to a new genre of music each week with a focus on fun and friendship.
Local musicians, Yessica Belsham and Winston Vinh, will lead the weekly sessions. Belsham runs the Kingston Drumming Circle and an Aztec drumming group, and is a member of several diverse music groups. Vihn has performed with local bands such as Mr.LoveClub, Spencer Evans and more.
The program will run on Fridays from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at its 237 Wellington Street location. There are 16 spaces available. At the conclusion of the weekly sessions, participants will have the option to take part in a performance.
