Exhibit: Out of the Box

Jan 29, 2015 | Art, Exhibits, H'art Events - 2015, H'art Studio

Come to  Windmills Café beginning on May 24th to see H’art School’s new visual art exhibit!

The artists –– all adults with intellectual disabilities–– were challenged to use a simple box as a metaphor during this year’s creative lessons and their own artistic processes. The box was their springboard to discover, use imagination, be curious, and play.

Why a box? Good question!

Think back to when you were a child and you received a special gift –– you quickly discovered the box it came in was way more fun!  Why was that? Because a simple box demands that you develop your creative capacity.

So, this process required the artists to tap into this creative capacity. And, as you will see, the resulting artwork is new, surprising, delightful and unexpected.
