This performance brings together neurodiverse artists and the voices of parents and caregivers. Through filmed interviews and original dances, the piece unfolds chronologically from birth through adulthood, tracing how love, care and creativity shape an artist over time. Each dance is inspired by a real conversation and led by the artist at its centre, translating lived experience into movement. The work invites audiences to see not only the art that is made, but the relationships that make it possible.

Our past work has focused on finding our own voices and sharing our unique talents and perspectives, with this new work we will also include the voices of families and caregivers. With the addition of these new voices we hope to broaden our audiences’ awareness of the complexities involved in us pursuing a life in the arts and honour the loving caregivers who continue to journey with us as we create.

This show brings together a large, diverse cast who have spent months exploring, creating, and growing together in workshops. Mentored by PeerLess Productions and supported by a talented team of H’art facilitators, community artists, and collaborators, the performance reflects the creativity, connection, and dedication of everyone involved.

Insights and stories from interviews with H’art Studio artists and their families inspired nine original dances, each highlighting an individual artist’s journey. All H’art artists contribute—some perform on stage, while others bring their creativity through stop-motion, props, and illustrations that appear in video segments—ensuring the creative community is represented throughout the performance. Featured dancers include:  Hannah, Ashaya, Nathan, Johnny, Alistair, Jacob, Mandy, Maeghan, Amanda, Kirsten, Leonard, Amy, Phillip, Chris, Tristan, Andrew, Lindsey, Quinn, Erin, Natasha, David, Thomas, Rufus, Abi, Anna, Jos, and Sydney.

Join us for this moving one-night performance celebrating the growth of each artist and the community that nurtures them.
