2025 was a year of sparkling creativity, big moves and the feeling of coming home at H’art Centre. Here’s a quick look at what we accomplished thanks to you!

Skill Building & Creativity

From January’s Bling! workshops to spring’s Moving As One to summer’s Gentle Landings and fall’s Small Adventures, our artists grew their skills and confidence.
Impact: Inclusive, adaptive programs in visual arts, movement, and storytelling. Stronger peer connections and personal growth.

Turning Challenge into Celebration

We were honoured to be the 2024/2025 charity of the Vogue Charity Fashion Show. Throughout the winter, we offered creative “fashion inspired” workshops and MixAbilities training.
Impact: More than 170 Vogue Charity Fashion Show team members trained or collaborated with artist participants, turning a challenging moment into a joyful, community-powered celebration of creativity.

Moving As One

By the Spring, we had packed up our longtime space at 237 Wellington and renovated our forever home at Providence Village—a major step toward sustainability and growth.
Impact: A massive volunteer effort and minimal disruption to operations.

Our Gentle Landing

By June, we opened the doors in the west wing of the Motherhouse at Providence Village, welcoming participants into three fully accessible new studios with upgraded technology and air conditioning surrounded by future partners and green spaces on an age-friendly campus.
Impact: A “forever home” with space for creativity, community, and partner programming. A welcoming home for all our artists.

Settling In and Room Dedication

In September, we dedicated three studio spaces to some of H’art’s earliest participants: Karen Olivier Room for Music, Vince Perugino Visual Arts Room, and the David Cross Storytelling Room
Impact: Celebrated belonging and the roots of our community while adapting to our new surroundings.

October: A National Gathering

From October 7-9, H’art hosted its first Connecting Canadians gathering, bringing inclusive arts leaders from 17 inclusive arts organizations from across Canada.
Impact: Shared best practices, strengthened networks, and learned from each other.

December: A New Adventure

We gathered together to reflect on what we accomplished, share our gratitude for Katherine’s leadership and to get excited for what’s next.
Impact: Recognized our founder and launched a new legacy fund for long-term sustainability of inclusive arts programs and initiatives.

Looking Ahead

Thanks to our artists, families, volunteers, partners, and supporters, 2025 was full of creativity, connection, and growth. With a new space, new partnerships, and a national network, 2026 promises even more opportunities to create, learn, and belong.
